Project Team

The Financial Literacy Music Project was conceived in 2004 and completed in 2009. During that time, Johnny Deas poured well over 1,000 hours into the project, meticulously ensuring that the information was helpful, relevant, and perhaps most of all – cool. From the very beginning, the objective was to transform the process of becoming financially literate into an edu-taining experience.

Project Lead

Johnny Deas served as Executive Producer and Project Lead. He had the overall responsibility of taking the project from vision to reality. His responsibilities included finding additional talent to complete the project, creating the written course materials, writing the songs, and performing all of the lyrical content. Learn more

Music Producer

Kristopher “Cho” Flagg is an independent producer and was brought on board to create all of the original music for the project. In addition to being a multi-talented producer with a knack for creating hits, Cho is a creative artist in his own right; he is one-half of the producer / songwriter team "The Axis".

Female Vocalist

Known simply as Aurelia; this Spanish soprano is featured on the songs “Get it Together”, “Never Fall in Love with a Stock”, and “Worth More Than the Dollar”. Aurelia is an independent contemporary Christian singer with the versatility to add value to any project.

"The absolute coolest teacher I've ever had. I never even cared about this stuff until now. I feel much better prepared to handle my finances. He made it fun. What's funny is, I'm confident I know more than my parents about this stuff"

Jennifer

High School Student

"At first I thought this [product] was for young people, but after going through the course, I now tell everybody I know about the website. I wish something like this existed when I was a kid, but I'm making the most of the information now. I've completed the program, but I still listen to it on the road just for entertainment. I'd recommend it to anyone"

Jared

Truck Driver

"It's definitely funky; never in a million years did I imagine that I could jam to a song on budgeting. I always knew getting informed on my personal finances was important, but I put it off because it's normally just too boring. But I have to admit, Financial Literacy Music is tight, these [people] really pulled it off."
